We’re very excited to be participating in this year’s virtual In-house Financial Services Conference organised by The Lawyer.
The annual event attracts over 150 general counsel, heads of legal and chief compliance officers to discuss and debate the latest trends in the financial services sector. The 2021 virtual event is taking place over two half days from 29-30th June and will be focussed on the theme of ‘Shaping the next normal’ with delegates learning from their peers about the growth opportunities, potential pitfalls and best practice that has emerged as a result of the global pandemic.
30 June 2021 - live plenary session
As one of the lead participants, we’ll be hosting a live plenary session on Wednesday 30 June (11:00 to 11:40 GMT) in the form of a panel discussion which will explore how in-house functions can successfully integrate technology into their teams. Peerpoint managing director Carolyn Aldous will moderate the discussion, with the panel made up of three Peerpoint clients who are successfully using technology in their teams alongside Kevin Oliver, who heads up Allen & Overy’s legal technology business.
With such varied and prolific discussions around adopting technology in law, it can be difficult to understand how and where it fits into existing teams. Financial services companies are under great pressure to drive efficiencies and innovate but it’s not always clear as to how they can do this.
This session will explore the opportunities that technology and innovation can bring to legal teams through inspiring examples and real-life experiences shared by the panel, including:
- Navigating ‘legal tech’ and what this actually means for in-house teams.
- What team skill sets should you be focusing on in the context of innovating?
- How do you decide which tech solutions to adopt?
- Culturally, how do you successfully integrate tech into your teams?
29 June 2021 - roundtable
We will also be hosting a roundtable on Tuesday 29 June (12:00 to 13:00 GMT) where we’ll be discussing how to ensure legal teams are in the best position possible moving forward as the economy and offices start to open.
