"My experience with Peerpoint has been top‐notch. They truly listened to what both the client and I were looking for from the arrangement, and tailor‐made a package that ticked all of the boxes in a supportive, open and innovative way."

I’m a Financial Services regulatory lawyer and had worked in private practice within magic circle law firms for several years before moving into consultancy. I loved my work but there came a point at which the demands of a permanent, full-time role on my time no longer suited me. I took a brief sabbatical but missed the challenges that came with working in law.

Being an Allen & Overy alumna, Peerpoint was a natural fit. Everything A&O sets out to do is always to the highest standard, so I was confident in my decision to join the panel. Since joining Peerpoint, my placements have included working in A&O’s Financial Services Regulatory practice team in the Hong Kong office, as well as in the in-house legal team of a global investment bank.

My experience with Peerpoint has been top-notch. They truly listened to what both the client and I were looking for from the arrangement, and tailor-made a package that ticked all of the boxes in a supportive, open, and innovative way. In addition to great quality projects and access to top clients, consulting through Peerpoint has freed up time in my schedule to manage my property business and has made it possible for me to spend quality time with my young family throughout their formative years.

Pre Covid-19, Peerpoint organised a range of informal yet informative events, from group dinners to more intimate one-on-one scenarios with visiting consultants, which creates a real sense of community and belonging among the Peerpoint family. It’s been interesting meeting such a diverse group of people, learning about their various roles, and sharing in our experiences. I’ve also had the opportunity to meet with the Peerpoint team and find out about their exciting future development plans, as well as spent time with prospective panelists, helping to navigate them through the process of becoming a consultant as enjoyably, and as effortlessly, as possible. In recent times of course the community events have gone online, but hopefully, these in-person events will come back again soon.

A&O Shearman was formed on 1 May 2024 by the combination of Shearman & Sterling LLP and Allen & Overy LLP and their respective affiliates (the legacy firms). This consultant profile may include reference to roles/assignments generated by one or more of the legacy firms rather than A&O Shearman.
