Sourcing renewable energy expertise

Sourcing an experienced consultant to support the largest independent generator of onshore wind in Europe on a cross-jurisdictional financing matter.

The challenge

Ventient, the largest independent generator of onshore wind in Europe, needed support with a cross-jurisdictional multi-billion financing matter. They needed a lawyer to join them in-house to provide on-the-ground support on key deliverables throughout the financing and other projects and transactions across the business.

What we did

Alongside A&O, Peerpoint liaised with Ventient’s general counsel and legal manager to identify the right candidate, one who had experience working on large-scale financings and supporting documentation. We identified a suitable candidate with experience from top-tier law firms including A&O, as well as project finance expertise in the renewable energy industry.

The outcome

Providing an experienced lawyer that could hit the ground running has delivered seamless support to a busy team. Ventient has continued to work with Peerpoint and A&O on the project, in addition to engaging with A&O’s project management office on further mandates.

What our client said

"We are delighted with Peerpoint's process and the quality of candidates they presented. The seamless onboarding of the Peerpoint lawyer into our financing project team has been invaluable. The value the Peerpoint lawyer has been providing to Ventient has led us to extending their contract to ensure their continued support until the transaction closes."
