An innovative solution for an Australian state government project

Using flexibility and an innovative approach to support a government agency on Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure project.

The challenge

An Australian government agency was undertaking the country's largest public transport infrastructure project to date. They faced significant difficulties in finding skilled permanent legal talent for the project and turned to Peerpoint.

What we did

The Peerpoint team proposed a solution whereby the client could engage Peerpoint consultants through a secondment arrangement, under legacy Allen & Overy's appointment to the client's legal services panel. Given the client's need for efficiency and fluctuating workloads, we suggested a flexible fee structure. This innovative approach allowed our client to adjust the level of legal consultant support as needed.

The outcome

We became the first legal services provider to collaborate with the client in this way. Peerpoint provided three senior legal consultants who contributed to several critical areas, including large-scale project procurement, infrastructure and construction disputes, and employment.
