The challenge
We were approached by an Abu Dhabi-based client whose focus is on the development of cultural experiences and tourism in the UAE. The client’s in-house legal team was facing a significant increase in workload due to an influx of high-profile projects. It urgently required several lawyers to manage the volume of work, including a senior commercial lawyer with technology experience, based primarily in Abu Dhabi.
What we did
Peerpoint provided a senior commercial lawyer with the technology experience the client needed. Understanding the client's budgetary constraints, we negotiated a creative solution: the consultant would work a reduced week of four days while retaining a rate commensurate with their experience. This arrangement allowed the consultant to be based in Abu Dhabi four days per week, meeting the client's needs effectively. Given how exciting the client and projects are, the Peerpoint lawyer was happy to flex their working week in order to be part of the team and is enjoying the innovative assignment.
The outcome
Through Peerpoint the client was able to hire a legal consultant who perfectly matched their requirements, possessing significant regional knowledge and the ability to hit the ground running. Despite the budgetary constraints, the client secured a senior lawyer capable of managing the workload. The consultant continues to work with the client, and we have since placed another consultant into the team.
